crashing the piste
Documentation
Crashing the Pist is a fast-paced arcade skiing game that combines precision, timing, and quick decision-making in a dynamic alpine environment. The player takes control of a skier racing down a long, winding snow piste filled with obstacles, collectibles, and changing terrain conditions. The objective is simple: survive the descent, avoid crashes, collect stars, and reach the finish line as efficiently as possible.

Each level introduces new challenges. At first, the slope is forgiving, allowing players to get used to the controls and rhythm. But as the game progresses, the difficulty increases with tighter curves, moving obstacles, and environmental hazards like slow zones. Trees and snowmen block the path, forcing players to react quickly and steer with precision. Meanwhile, coins scattered across the piste provide temporary speed boosts, rewarding risk-taking and skillful navigation.

The game features a smooth scrolling system, giving the illusion of a long mountain descent far beyond the visible screen. Spectators line the sides of the piste, creating a lively race atmosphere, while falling snow and wind effects enhance immersion.

Players can choose between different characters, each visually unique, adding personality to the gameplay. A scoring system tracks performance, encouraging replayability and mastery. With increasing speed, tighter turns, and more complex obstacle patterns, Crashing the Pist delivers a progressively challenging experience that keeps players engaged from start to finish.
