**Seraphine the Acolyte** serves the old faith and fears the eternal winter is no natural disaster. Guided by visions and divine purpose, she journeys north to confront whatever darkness threatens the land.

A mysterious informant offers the first real lead in decades: an abandoned prison hidden beyond the frozen plains. But reaching it will not be easy. Strange creatures roam the snowfields, restless spirits guard forgotten secrets, and ancient powers stir beneath the ice.

Within the prison waits a lone prisoner who knows more than she should. Beyond it stands an ancient place spoken of only in myth—a place where the roots of winter reach deep into the world itself.
